Summer School Offerings Sent Home TODAY!

Summer School forms went home for at risk students today. Students received pages as follows with highlights in areas where they were at risk for failing.

Summer School Letter

Dear Parent or Guardian:
In addition to state testing requirements, Felicity-Franklin Local School District requires the successful completion of 21 credits for graduation. Students who have failed a course in English, Math, Science or Social Studies may have the opportunity to recover those credits through the successful completion of 60 hours of summer school in each area.
You are receiving this letter because your child is at risk or has not passed one or more required courses.
This year the school is able to offer summer school sessions FREE of charge.
While exams took place on 5/20 and 5/21 may affect final grades, these recommendations are based upon teacher recommendations for failing or at risk students prior to exams.
Your child should attend those sessions highlighted below:
SUMMER SESSION TESTING SESSION 8am-4pm
English 1 & 2 May 28 – June 5, 8am-4pm & June 6, 8am-Noon
Science 1 May 28 – June 5, 8am-4pm & June 6, 8am-Noon
Math 1 June 6, Noon-4pm & June 7-June 17, 8am-4pm
Science 2 June 6, Noon-4pm & June 7-June 17, 8am-4pm
Math 2 June 18 – June 26, 8am-4pm & June 27, 8am-Noon
Social Studies June 18 – June 26, 8am-4pm & June 27, 8am-Noon

It is critical that your child attend all highlighted summer sessions in order to avoid falling behind.
Transportation is available from the following collection points:
Pick-up/Drop Offs at end of road may vary + or – 5 minutes

ATTENDANCE: There is to be no time missed during summer school for any reason. Time missed will result in removal from class and the student will earn NO CREDIT. You MUST have 100% attendance and pass the class to EARN CREDIT.

BEHAVIOR: Student behavior on the bus as well as at school is expected to be exceptional. Students who are referred to the office for disciplinary reasons will be removed from summer school. The opportunity to RECOVER credits is a privilege.

DRESS CODE: Students are expected to dress in accordance with the standard school dress code.

LUNCH will not be provided. Students must pack their own lunch daily.

While summer school can be difficult and even taxing, this is a great opportunity for students to recover credit(s) lost. Students who fall behind on credits are often faced with difficult course schedules, on-line credit recovery, or postponed graduation. Please take time to review the above information with your child.

Sincerely,

Bob Walker, Principal
